RealCABLE was founded by Peter Pearson, former Managing Director of Cablelines and Cablenet, alongside a team who’ve been shaping the UK network infrastructure market since the early 1980s. Between us, we’ve spent over 40 years sourcing, stocking, and supplying the cable and connectivity products that IT professionals rely on every day, and we started RealCABLE because we saw a gap that needed filling.

The market has changed, and not for the better if you’re the one buying. Consolidation among the big suppliers has meant more layers of process and less accountability. New accounts take longer to open. Credit limits are harder to get set at a level that actually matches how you do business. Stock that should be available isn’t, and when something does go wrong, an order, a delivery, a discrepancy, getting it resolved means working through call centres and account managers who don’t have the authority (or the incentive) to just fix it.

We built RealCABLE to be the opposite of that: an independent, founder-led supplier where the same people who’ve always known this industry are the ones opening your account, setting your terms, checking the stock, and getting your order out the door. Four decades in cabling, not just a job title

Peter’s story goes back to 1979, when he started out selling early computer cables, founding Cablelines in the 1980s and later Cablenet in the 1990s, at a time when IBM, DEC, ICL and Wang each ran their own incompatible cabling systems. He was there for the shift to Ethernet, building some of the first Thick Ethernet coaxial cables by hand, and learned the industry’s standards the hard way, one hard-won lesson at a time. That same attention to standards and reliability has stayed with him through the evolution from Category 3 cable to today’s Cat6a and beyond, and through decades building businesses that grew from small beginnings into operations shipping millions of patch leads a year.

It’s that first-hand experience, not just years on a CV, that shapes how we run RealCABLE: get the standards right, keep the stock moving, and treat customers like they matter, because he’s been the customer waiting on a delivery too.

Our initial range covers over 1,000 products, with more than 100,000 cable products held in stock and ready to ship.
